Paid Traffic

Ad rejected

May 2, 2014 — by Adam Hunt2

Let me tell you how I got kicked in the bollocks.

In the quest to make some easy money online I found a quick download, created a landing page and was good to go. And then I got rejected.

Let me tell you what happened so you don’t make the same mistake. I opened an account with Adworkmedia, which based on reviews I’ve read, is the best ad network out there. Went to Top converting US offers and picked one. It was a soundcloud downloader.

Rather than just promoting the offer I thought why not collecting email addresses.

Since I am not all that great at creating landing pages, I spend a whole day creating one. But I managed to do it in the end and got few extra grey hair as a bonus. Now obviously, I didn’t design it, because I wanted it to look similar to the offer. If it was a brand new design, I don’t think it would convert that well.

Anyway, I opened the offer in the browser, downloaded the whole website, opened it in an editor (I use Dreamweaver) and started working. When I got it done I was really pleased with the result.

Let me show you what it looks like. Here is the offer:

And this is the landing page I created.

Soundcloud Downloader (I put it on my subdomain, very easy to do)

As you can see, it is very similar and it looks as if it comes from the same company. I also designed the confirmation email the subscribers would get to look very similar. If you want to see it, just put your email in and see for yourself. Don’t worry, I am not going to use it for anything. You can unsubscribe immediately after.

I also wanted to use it only for the US because it was not available anywhere else. So really, the idea made sense. It was also a pretty well converting offer with 31% converting rate and average payout was 0.28USD. And since I can get 1000 impressions for 10 bucks, the math looked pretty good.

Both two pop up networks I use rejected it. The email I got from Leadimpact said:

We would not be able to approve the SoundCloud Downloader, as we do not allow advertisers to promote downloadable applications.

In other words, all that work was pointless.

Or was it?

I learned how to create a Landing page using an existing page which will help me in the future and I also learned not to bother with offers like this anymore. I think I will find an offer on Clickbank, create a landing page which will look similar and then see how that goes. I am really starting to like this paid traffic stuff. I see a lot of potential in it and also a lot of money to be made. Sure, organic traffic is great, more dense I think, but this way you can make some pretty good and quick money. If you don’t know where to start, be sure to check out my first post about Paid Traffic.

Take care

Hello!! Nice stuff you have learnt. But I want to ask. How do I download a full web site, so I can clone it for my landing lage.

What you do, is you right-click anywhere on the site and click on save as and choose webpage complete. Than you just open the file in Dreamweaver or something similar and work with it. Hope it helps
